Two-storey house in burned Ciracas, splash of gasoline hit by candles

Indo Kanal. A two-story house was burned in Gang Dewa, RT 002 RW 002, Ciracas, East Jakarta on Monday (7/1/2019).

Gatot Sulaiman, Head of the Operations Section of the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency, said that the incident started because a fire from a candle was hit by a spark of gasoline when the owner of the house moved him from a jerry can to a small bottle.

"This morning the lights were dead, then the owner of the house again poured gasoline from jerry cans into small bottles for retail sale. Eh, the splash of gasoline hit a candle and caused a fire," Gatot said in a short message.

To overcome the fire, as many as 14 units of fire engines were deployed to extinguish the fire.

However, officers deployed to the location had experienced difficulties because the road access to the location was quite narrow.

"Only small-sized damkar cars can access the location, while the large ones cannot enter the scene because of the narrow road access," he said.

As a result of this incident, Paraswati suffered around 10 percent burns on the legs. the victim was immediately rushed to Pasar Rebo Hospital.

"Ms. Paraswati burns 10 percent in the legs," he said.

In addition, one motorcycle unit caught fire. The loss is estimated at Rp. 300 million.
